Today I learned

That really the only reasons organic foods are better than foods grown with pesticides are economic.

And your source on this would be......???

One could take the position that the value of not adding more, say, run-off from phosphate fertilizer to the water table is ultimately an economic value. One could say that. Of course, economists tend to say that anything material and much that is not material is properly seen through the lens of economics.

Now I'VE learned something new today. Thanks, Eleanor!

My source on this would be the teachers of my Evolutionary Medicine class (a parisitologist, a guy who does evolutionary stuff, and an MD). What I was trying to get at was that there doesn't seem to be any health detriment to us directly when we eat food that's had chemicals used on it. You have to go a couple more steps out to find out why organic's better.
